My original due date, September 26th, came and went...no baby.
Back when we had the ultrasound to determine the baby's gender, the due date got backed up a couple days because of the measurements. That date was today....still no baby.
I had a doctor's appointment today. There hasn't been much progress to speak of really. The doctor said I MIGHT be a little more than 1 cm, but still only 50% effaced. So it looks like I'll be heading in for an induction this Thursday.
I guess I could always test the castor oil theory. One of my friends suggested it, and it's really the only natural induction method I haven't been brave enough to try in the past. And believe me, I've tried just about everything anyone suggests. Going for long walks, Eggplant Parmesean, spicy foods, I could go on and on. Nothing works. Anyone else tried and had success with castor oil? How long does it take for it to take effect? I just wonder if it might be worth it.
And I'm sure you've noticed that I continue to refer to him as "the baby." We are still leaning toward Ryan Matthew. It's the name we tell everyone, but for some reason, neither of us are 100% convinced that's the name we want to go with. I'm not sure what our problem is with this whole name issue. I guess we'll just have to look at him and see if it fits. :)

Still No Name
Nope, we STILL don't know the name of our little guy who's going to be here in only 2 months. The clock is rapidly ticking, yet not much progress has been made. I'm really am trying here. I've looked through names on SO many baby name sites, I brainstorm boy names in my head day in and day out, I make lists, but to no avail. I pass the list onto Billy who crosses off 99% of them and hands it back. He's said no to Parker, Logan, Alex, Jackson, and many others.
Maybe we'll just go with Tyler's latest suggestion. Since he finally came to the realization that his baby brother really won't be named Tyler Nick Jr., he's been brainstorming ideas right along with me. His latest revelation? 100 Rex...has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? He said this would be the baby's "spicy name." Apparently anyone who would like admitance upstairs in Tyler's room needs a spicy name. AND, just for the record, "Mommy," "Daddy," and "Tyler" are all spicy names. "Allison," however, didn't make the cut. Where did we go wrong??? The poor girl has to use the name "100" as her spicy name. When I asked, "But I thought your baby brother's spicy name was 100?," he responded with, "No, my baby brother's spicy name is 100 Rex. Not just 100." The mind of a 4-year-old. He cracks me up!
Anyway, despite all the names Billy has rejected, he did like one new name suggestion. I know, I can't believe it either! So the latest possibility, that we both actually like, is Ryan. The only bad news is (if we even decide we want to use this name) we still need to come up with a middle name to go with it. Wish us luck!

Please Help
I know, you were all expecting a cruise post...
I will be getting to that soon. I need to scan some pictures and get some from Billy's aunt before I can start.
Until then, why not post something baby related? It's actually in regards to one of the most important components needed when having a baby...
I know that we still have about 4 months to go, but it's definitely creeping up on us. I am just feeling a little stressed that I may have to bring home an un-named baby from the hospital. After all, we didn't just come across this problem yesterday. It's been looming over our heads since the moment we found out we were expecting....and we havn't made ANY headway.
So, does anyone have any suggestions for us?
For the most part, we like more common names (although not too overused) and normal spellings. The teacher in me just can't stray from common name spellings. Also, I have an issue with naming any of our children after a close friend or family member. I've just never liked being a "copy-catter," and I feel like I would totally be a hypocrite if I did so.
So here is our meager list of name ideas, with reasons why we can't come to a consensus on any of them.
1. Braden - This is Billy's top name choice. In fact, I think he's SO stuck on this name that he can't even consider any other option. In my opinion, it's not a bad name. I like it too. There's just one small detail...it's Billy's best friend's name. That would just be very difficult for me and my "copy-cat" syndrome.
2. Cameron - This is my top name choice. Back when we were pregnant with Tyler, this was one of the name choices for him and we BOTH liked it. We decided to put it on reserve for a later date because we wanted to pass on William and thought Tyler went better with it. I still really like this name, but for some reason, Billy has decided it doesn't suit him anymore.
3. Zachary - This is another boy's name choice that was considered back when I was pregnant with Tyler. This was a name Billy LOVED, before the thought of Braden came along. He actually just liked Zack. He would say, "Zack Hadley. It's just a good name." It's a cute name, it just wasn't at the top of my list...and still isn't. Something about the Z maybe?
4. Spencer - This is a name that has always kind of floated in the back of my mind as an option. But the problem of the copy-cat issue arises again. I have a friend named Spencer, and our families are actually in the same ward now. It's probably so lame of me to think this way, but I can't help it. Any suggestions on helping me get over it??? As far as I know, Billy likes this name too (although we all know it doesn't come near to competing with Braden).
5. Devon - This is just a random name choice. I was looking through lists of baby names one night, and this was practically the only name we didn't laugh at and both said could possibly work. It's WAY at the bottom of the list though....
So, that's it. 5 possible name choices. Feel free to offer your opinion...I know you have one! Please give other suggestions too!

The baby's NAME!!!
And, it's supposed to be the most fun part too, right?! Well, not this time around. We are so stuck! We used up the boy name we both liked when Tyler was born, and now we can't agree on anything.I know that we still have about 4 months to go, but it's definitely creeping up on us.
